SurveyFix (“we”, “us”) repairs Trimble survey equipment in Melbourne, with mail-in repairs from across Australia. We respect your privacy and handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what we do with it.

We only collect what we need to quote, repair and return your equipment. This may include:

• Your name, phone number and email address
• Your business name (if you have one)
• Your return postal address
• Details of your equipment, including make, model and serial number
• A description of the fault and any photos you send us
• Payment and invoicing details needed to bill the repair

How We Collect It

We collect information when you text or call us, send us an email, or post equipment to us with a note. Our website does not have contact forms or accounts, so we don’t collect personal information through the site itself.

Why We Use It

• To quote, repair, test and return your equipment
• To contact you about your repair, including confirming the price before work starts
• To issue invoices and keep business records
• To meet our legal obligations

We don’t sell your information, and we don’t use it for marketing unless you’ve asked us to keep in touch.

Equipment Serial Number Checks

From time to time, we randomly check equipment serial numbers against Trimble’s lost and stolen equipment records. A new customer’s first repair is more likely to be checked. This helps protect equipment owners and the survey community.

Who We Share It With

We only share your information where it’s needed to do the job, for example:

• Postal and courier services, to return your equipment
• Our accounting software provider, to issue invoices
• Trimble, only for serial number checks as described above
• Government or law enforcement bodies, if required by law

Our Website

Our website is hosted in Australia and uses Cloudflare to keep it fast and secure. Like most websites, our hosting and security providers may automatically log basic technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you visit. We use this only to keep the site running and secure. Our website may use cookies needed for it to work properly.

Our website links to other sites, including our sister business, Australian Survey Equipment. Those sites have their own privacy practices, and we’re not responsible for them.

We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access. We keep it only as long as we need it for the purposes above, or as required by law (for example, tax records).
